Rebecca (Becca) L. Gipson

Rebecca L. Gipson, known affectionately as Becca, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away on March 10, 2026 at the age of 70 following a long battle with cancer. Born in San Bernardino, California, she moved to New Mexico in 1997. Becca was predeceased by her parents, George and Shirley Wood of San Bernardino, and her brother, Carl L. Wood.

Becca found great joy in gardening and fishing. She had a deep love for dogs, often joking that her beloved Max was her husband because he never argued. She worked in retail both in Albuquerque and Clovis, and after retiring, she continued serving her community through the City of Albuquerque Senior Services.

She is survived by her partner and caregiver, Alex Sandoval; her three children, Michelle Eche and spouse of California, Gina Myers and spouse of Kentucky, and Frank “Guy” Pruitt and spouse of South Carolina; her siblings, Craig Chase of Washington, Dennis Wood of Oregon and Hawaii, Carole Hinton of Mississippi, Robbi Ross of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Jeff Wood of Arizona; as well as several grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
