Fort Payne, AL
Rebecca Ann Keith Guinn, born June 1, 1948, in the Alpine Community of Mentone, Alabama, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on March 11, 2026.
Born to Louise and Leonard Keith, Sr., Rebecca grew up in the Mentone community. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald K. Guinn II, her parents, and her baby sister, Libby.
She is survived by her children, Donald Guinn III (Joy), Scott Guinn (Amanda), and Lauren Everett (Ben); her siblings Leonard Keith (Amy), Brenda Keith, and Pat Bray (Hank); and several special nieces and nephews. Rebecca was a proud and loving grandmother to Kelsey Street (Stephen), Wess and Josh Everett, Beckett and Boone Guinn, and a great-grandmother to Raylon and Baby Street.
A graduate of Valley Head High School, Rebecca earned her bachelor’s degree from Jacksonville State University and her master’s degree from the University of Alabama, later pursuing additional graduate study at Alabama A&M University. She devoted her career to education, first as a special education teacher and later as a school psychometrist. She had a remarkable gift for seeing potential in others, always championing the underdog and offering quiet encouragement.
Deeply devoted to her family, Rebecca welcomed loved ones into her home and expressed her care through the meals she prepared and the table she set. An avid reader and lifelong learner, she remained curious about the world around her. She was an active member of St. Philip’s Episcopal Church, where she faithfully served on the altar guild and participated in the Daughters of the King and the ECW. She will be remembered for her generous spirit, her steady encouragement of others, and the love she poured into her family and community.
