Reba Whatley

October 16, 1954 March 8, 2026

Kilgore, TX

Reba Jean Whatley, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt, passed away on March 8, 2026, in Kilgore, Texas. Born and raised in Kilgore, she lived a life marked by deep faith, steadfast love, and quiet strength, always giving selflessly to those around her.

Reba married her high school sweetheart, Glenn Whatley, and together they built a life rooted in commitment, patience, and unwavering devotion. Their marriage reflected the values she held most dear—faithfulness, family, and finding God’s blessings in everyday moments shared with loved ones.

Her greatest joy was her family. She raised her two sons, Shane and Shannon, teaching them through her example to be patient, kind, and steadfast. She cherished time outdoors with them, fishing and camping at Broken Bow and Martin Creek, where countless memories of laughter and simple joys were made. That love expanded as her family grew. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Brennan, Zaynah and her husband Dalton, and their children Presley and Dalton; and Nessiah, Addison, Olivia, and Levi.

Reba was the steady heart of her family—always present, gentle in spirit, and gifted at making others feel cared for and understood. A lifelong follower of Jesus Christ, she served for many years as a Sunday School teacher at Highland Park Assembly of God in Kilgore, shaping young lives with tenderness, joy, and a sincere desire to share God’s love.

She is survived by her loving sisters, Linda Cowan and husband Jim, and Cathy Goff. She was preceded in death by her mother, Maude Davidson, her father, Luther McNeese, and her brothers Allen Ferguson, BJ Ferguson, Mack McNeese, and Wayne Ferguson.

Reba’s presence brought peace, her words brought comfort, and her love brought strength. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion, gentleness, and unwavering grace that will continue in every life she touched.
