Born September 4, 1938 in Carlshalton, England, the son of the late Percy and Rosina (Nurthen) Wood.Ray completed his apprenticeship in England before moving to the United States in 1968. Ray would hire on with General Motors until his retirement in 2004. On December 31, 1974 he would marry his wife Georgia (Skip) Wood (predeceased 2018). He was an avid motorcyclist and enjoyed his free time taking trips with his wife and motorcycle club friends.Ray was a family man who loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed home improvement projects and renovations, a master with tools. He was also a fan of the Buffalo Bills and Atlanta Braves. Friends and family would describe Ray as a kind man who befriended most everybody he met. He always carried a positive attitude and willing to help anybody in need; giving to charity and helping his wife with church events and gatherings.Ray is survived by his brother Tim Wood; step brothers Neil and Dennis Smith; his children Rosalyn Wood and partner Deanne Vincent of MA; Anthony and Deborah Mitchell of KY; Aaric and Carla St Michel of AK; and William Wood of ME; 11 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and many nephews and nieces and greats there of.Ray is predeceased by his beloved wife Georgia (Skip); twin siblings Eric Wood and Diane Clarke; and daughters Suzanne and Audrey Wood. Boucher - O'Brien Funeral Home in Easthampton was entrusted with his care.He will remain forever in our hearts.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
