Raymond Sleck
February 13, 1936— March 8, 2026
Schofield, WI
Raymond “Ray” Sleck, 90, of Las Vegas, Nevada, formerly of Wisconsin, passed away on March 8, 2026. Born on February 13, 1936, to Walter and Mary (Pheifer) Sleck, Ray possessed a quick mind and found deep satisfaction in life’s simpler pleasures.
He cherished the outdoors of Northern Wisconsin, where camping, hunting, and fishing brought him great joy. His lifelong passion for cars led to a successful career in the auto industry. Ray also enjoyed a friendly game of checkers and took pride in maintaining a tidy and orderly home. He lived in Las Vegas for more than thirty years, where he embraced the city’s energy and found excitement at the baccarat tables.
Music was central to Ray’s life. Blessed with a beautiful singing voice, he especially loved country western songs and often answered the phone by singing to the caller. He made it a cherished tradition to call family and friends on their birthdays to sing “Happy Birthday.” He had a tender heart for animals, particularly dogs, and held a special affection for his four beloved companions. He took quiet pleasure in good food—especially ribs and fried chicken—and in peaceful evenings watching Hallmark movies, with a special fondness for Christmas films.
Ray is survived by his wife of 37 years, Denise, whom he married in 1989; his children, Anthony, David, Roger (Cyndi), and Kathy; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Leilani Kerner; one brother; two sisters; and his parents.
Ray will be remembered for his songs, his love of life’s everyday moments, and the joy he brought to those around him. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
