Born in Arlington, Vermont, on July 19, 1932, he was the son of the late Rene and Louise (Leonard) LaFlamme. Raymond was a graduate of Bennington High School in Vermont, and he proudly served his country in the United States Army. A longtime resident of the Springfield area, Raymond was a devoted member of Holy Cross Church. He was well known in the community as the owner and operator of Ye Olde Butcher Shop in West Springfield, a business he ran with pride starting in 1967, finally retiring in 2019. In addition to his parents, Raymond was predeceased by his beloved wife, Jean M. (Moran) LaFlamme, who passed away in 2015, and his siblings, Leo LaFlamme, Aline LaFlamme and Mary ( Walczak Crowley ). He leaves his four devoted children: John LaFlamme and his wife, Susan, of West Springfield, Paul LaFlamme and his wife, Terri, of Feeding Hills, Rosemary Orciari and her husband, Dan, of Wickford, RI and Renee Dill and her husband, Rob, of Springfield. He is also survived by his older brother, Leonard LaFlamme of Bennington, VT. He leaves eight cherished grandchildren: Michael, Melissa, Michelle, Annika, Samantha, Hannah, Cassidy, and Tessa, and one dear great granddaughter Julie. Raymond will be deeply missed by his loving family and all who knew him. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated workers and staff of the Holyoke Soldiers' Home for the compassionate care, dignity, and respect they provided. Your kindness, patience, and professionalism brought comfort not only to our father, but to our entire family during a difficult time. Raymond's funeral will be held on Monday, March 16, 2026, at 8:15 AM from the Byron Keenan Funeral Home and Cremation Tribute Center, 1858 Allen Street, Springfield, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9:30 AM in Holy Cross Church, 221 Plumtree Road, Springfield. Burial with military honors will follow at the Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery in Agawam. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, March 15, 2026, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at the funeral home.
