Raymond Lee Hubbard, 78, of Wynne, passed away on March 10, 2026, at his home surrounded by his family. Born on November 21, 1947, in Wynne, he was the son of Ceasar Hubbard, Sr. and Bertha Lee Peery Hubbard. He married Joyce Ann Mayo on March 3, 2017.
A high school graduate, Ray worked for many years in the sanitation department in Chicago before returning to Wynne, where he was employed at Matthews Sweet Potato Farm until his retirement. A longtime member of the New St. James M.B. Church, he found joy in singing gospel and jazz, cooking, fishing, playing cards and darts. He organized dart tournaments in the area and competed with notable intensity. Ray cherished traveling with Joyce, was a compassionate listener who offered thoughtful, faith-based guidance, and was known for placing the needs of others before his own. His warm smile and generous heart left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ceasar Hubbard, Sr.; his mother, Bertha Sublett; ten brothers, Fred Hubbard, Ceasar Hubbard, Jr., James Hubbard, QT Sublett, Harry Sublett, John Sublett, Vernon Sublett, Donald Sublett, Calvin Sublett, and President Warrent; and seven sisters, Lois Turner, Caldonia Edwards, Letha Lampkins, Julia Long, Sadie Sublett, Mary Sublett, and Callie Edwards.
Survivors include his wife of nine years, Joyce Hubbard of Wynne; four sons, Rahi “Rudy” Hubbard of Chicago, Ray Hubbard, Jr. of Jonesboro, Jamel (Sunshine) Hubbard of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and Jachel Hubbard of Atlanta, Georgia; two daughters, Erika Echols of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and Eustacia Johnson of Chicago, Illinois; four step-children, Lashaunda King of Searcy, Qwonketa Mansko of Conway, Quiana Mayo of Jonesboro, and Eric Mayo of Wynne; four brothers, Ronald Hutchins of Forrest City, Lee Sublett of Wynne, Robert Sublett of Clarksville, Tennessee, and Mark Hubbard; six sisters, Victoria McCoy of Kansas City, Kansas, Alberta Jackson of Dallas, Texas, Willie Ann Knox of Wynne, Susie Jones, Josie Banks, and Deborah Wiggerton; eleven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
