Raymond "Ray" LaVern Harris

Raymond "Ray" LaVern Harris, 73, of Scarbro went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 4, 2026 at Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital in Beckley due to complications from a stroke he had recently endured.
Born September 9, 1952 in Monroe, Michigan he was the son of the late William and Alice (Morgan) Harris.
Raymond was a proud graduate from Summersville High School in Petersburg, Michigan. He worked as a truck driver and in his leisure he enjoyed working on and being in his yard. He especially loved his family.
In addition to his parents he is also preceded in death by two sisters, Linda Weiss and Barbara Harris; and brother, Ronald Harris.
Those left to cherish his wonderful memory include his loving wife, Mary Pennington; his daughter, Brenda Kominek (Rick); and her children, Lilly Kominek, Stella Kominek, and Colton Kominek all of Michigan; two stepdaughters, Georgia Treadway and companion David England and Sylvia Blevins (David); one sister, Jeanni Johnson of Ontario, Ohio; five brothers, David Harris (Barb) of Prudenville, Michigan, William Harris (Anita) of Jamestown, Tennessee, Doug Harris (Cindy) of Brown City, Michigan, Kenneth Harris of Ramulus, Michigan, and Brian Harris (Jami) of Allyn, Washington; and many nieces and nephews.
In keeping with his wishes Mr. Harris will be cremated and a celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
