Raymond L. Houston, 76, of Crawfordville, passed away on March 10, 2026. A native and lifelong resident of the area, Raymond worked as a painting contractor. He found great joy in attending and watching dog and horse racing. At home, he loved viewing re-runs of The Andy Griffith Show and listening to the music of Patsy Cline, yet nothing meant more to him than his family, especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by his daughter, Rhonda Hooker Almeda (Greg), and his son, Brandon Houston; his sisters, Jean Whaley and Pat Holstein (Everett); his brothers, Leon Richards (Karen), Gerald Richards, and Gary Richards (Patty); seven grandchildren, Corey Hooker (Dalia), Trent Hooker (Cassidy), Madison Hooker (Austin), Sabrina Blanton (Thomas), Stone Houston, Holly Houston, and Dale Houston (Kristin); and four great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Kinzie, Maliki, and Nathan.

Raymond was preceded in death by his son, Dale Houston; his grandson, Curtis Hooker; his granddaughter, Heather Mitchell; his brothers, Junior Houston, Leroy Houston, and Kenneth Richards; his nephew, Shawn Whaley; and his brother-in-law, Lester “Buddy” Whaley.
