Raymond Joseph Peotter

July 27, 1931 March 11, 2026

Iola, WI

Raymond Joseph Peotter, 94, of Iola, formerly of Appleton, passed away on March 11, 2026. He was born on July 27, 1931, in Seymour, Wisconsin, to the late Frank and Margaret (Marnocha) Peotter. Raymond married Dorothy Langdok in 1952 in Michigan and served in the United States Marines from 1952 to 1954.

Ray and Dorothy shared 73 years of marriage filled with many adventures. They traveled across the United States with their children, and in retirement they spent winters in Texas in their motorhome. Weekends were devoted to their family cottage beside the Little Wolf River. Ray loved the outdoors, riding motorcycles and teaching all the children how to ride. He logged more than 19,000 miles on his ATV through the woods. During winter months he retreated to his basement workshop, where he built minibikes, guns, and remote-control boats. His pride and joy was his remote-control tugboat, which he enjoyed using each summer. He cherished evenings around the campfire with family, enjoying Old Fashions and his famously overcooked steaks. Ray worked as a steamfitter with Local Union 400 out of Appleton beginning in 1956.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; his children, John (Katherine) Peotter, Patricia Krueger, Sandra Beltz, Robin (Cameron) Lafky, and Ted (Joanne) Peotter; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother, James Peotter, and his son-in-law, Ronald Krueger. Interment of cremains will take place in Seymour, Wisconsin.
