Raymond John Hanks

ABBEVILLE - Funeral services officiated by Deacon William "Billy" Vincent will be held at 1:00 PM, Monday, March 09, 2026, at Vincent Funeral Home of Abbeville, honoring the life of Raymond John Hanks, 83, who passed away on March 6, 2026, at Legacy at St. Christina Nursing and Rehab Center in Pineville. He will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Cale LeMaire, Sara LeMaire, Shelton Hanks, Brian Vidallier, Robert Hanks, and Kenneth St Amant.

Raymond was a devoted husband and a dedicated provider for his family. He worked tirelessly as a dispatcher in the oil field industry and was known for his unwavering support and commitment to those he loved. He cherished his role as a father figure, raising his stepchildren, Dennis and Angelette, as if they were his own. A proud veteran, Raymond also served honorably in the United States Air Force.

A visitation will take place at Vincent Funeral Home of Abbeville, 209 S. Saint Charles St., Abbeville, on Monday, March 09, 2026, from 9:00 AM until the time of services. A rosary is being prayed at 12:45 PM.

He is survived by his stepdaughter, Angelette L. Hebert; grandchildren, Cody and Cameron Hebert, and Cale and Sara LeMaire; and great-grandchildren, Zander and Ezra LeMaire.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Brenda Theall Hanks; parents, Aurelie Hanks and the former Helen Rung; and brothers, Preston Hanks, Charles "Tib" Hanks, Joseph Hanks, and Dalton Hanks.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Compassionate Care Hospice - Alexandria, LA, LaSalle General Hospital - Jena, LA, and Legacy at St. Christina Nursing and Rehab Center - Pineville, LA for taking care of him during his final days.
