Raymond J. Schmidhammer

Raymond J. Schmidhammer, 66, of Newark, passed away on Friday, March 6, 2026. Born in Kansas, Missouri, on October 27, 1959, he was the son of the late Robert and Elaine Jones Schmidhammer.

For many years Ray owned and operated Sullivan Auto Service in Williamson. He took great pride in his work and loved spending his spare time restoring cars and motorcycles. He also cherished traveling with his wife.

He is survived by his wife of thirty-five years, Christine; his son, Jared Schmidhammer; stepchildren Joshua (Brittney Russell) Kommer and Nicole Kommer; two grandchildren, Summer and Storm Kommer; his sister, Linda; his mother-in-law, Elaine Cowley; and brothers-in-law Michael (Cheryl) Cowley and Robert (Sue) Cowley. He was predeceased by his son, Jayme Schmidhammer; two brothers; his father-in-law, Al Cowley; and brother-in-law Steven Cowley.
