Raymond Artie Nickel, born on May 13, 1950, in St. Louis, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2026, at the age of 75. A dedicated truck driver for many years, Ray navigated the open roads with the same steady determination that marked his life. He was a proud member of the Lutheran faith and found great joy in woodworking, but it was his genuine love for people and his natural ability to connect with others that truly defined him.

Preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, John Daughday and Billy Reed, and his stepdad, Billy Reed, Ray is survived by his three children, Julie Lichtenegger and husband Bryan, Raymond Donald Nickel, and Louis Nickel and fiancée Heather Wright. He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren, Devin, Gavin and Chelsee Lynn Nickel, Taven and Tace Nickel, Stephanie and Evan Lichtenegger, as well as his siblings, Patricia Davis, Betty Wade (Dave), David Reed (Kathryn), and Sam Reed (fiancée Gail Pendegraft). He will be deeply missed by his nieces, Brenda Brand (Kevin), Linda Moore (Brian), Lisa Conley (Robert), and Fawn Dowd (Tracy), his nephew, Shane Davis (Carrie Moss), and many other nieces, nephews, family members, and friends.
