Ray Jenness

Ray Jenness, 93, of Rockport, Massachusetts, died on March 12th surrounded by his children.

A dedicated educator, Ray taught English and theater at Brattleboro High School for many years. He founded the Vermont Theatre Company and remained an active presence in the local arts scene, acting and directing in numerous productions throughout Brattleboro.

Born and raised in Hatfield, Massachusetts, Ray graduated from Williston Academy, Brown University, and the University of Connecticut. He is remembered by the many students, colleagues, and friends whose lives he touched through his passion for literature, performance, and community. He leaves behind his children, who were with him at the end.
