Ray C. Davis

Ray C. Davis, 97, of Dornsife, passed away on March 11, 2026, at the Gatehouse Inpatient Hospice in Williamsport. Born in Ashland on August 20, 1928, he was the son of Katie and Belton Davis. Ray lived his entire life on the family farm, where he worked as a farmer, served as Boyer's Meats' first employee in 1952, mined coal during the winter of 1968, and later worked as a custodian for the Line Mountain School District.

He was well known in his community for his deep knowledge of local history and family genealogy. Ray loved sharing stories drawn from a lifetime of quiet observation and connection to the land and its people.

He is survived by his brother, Guy (Deb) Davis; his sister, Anna Byerly; thirteen nieces and nephews; several great-nieces and nephews; and Dolly's three daughters. He was preceded in death by his parents, Belton Davis and Katie Fetter; his brothers, Leon, Harold, and Lawrence Davis; and his longtime companion, Dolly Brosius.
