Raul Barron Ramirez

Raul Barron Ramirez, 74, of Amarillo, Texas, passed away on Monday, March 9, 2026. Born in Calvert, Arkansas, on June 21, 1951, he was the beloved son of Lucia Barron Ramirez. Raul lived a life marked by quiet dedication and warmth that touched everyone fortunate enough to know him.

For fifteen years he worked as a farmer in Hart and Dimmitt, Texas, before moving to Amarillo in 1995, where he continued in construction until his retirement. Those who knew him remember the steady, gentle presence he brought to every part of his life.

Raul is survived by his wife of 49 years, Marilla Elena DeLeon Ramirez; his daughters, Lucy Ramirez and Patsy Ramirez Martinez and her husband, Anthony Martinez; his brother, Paul Ramirez; and his sister, Oralia Palamo. He also leaves behind numerous grandchildren, George Mendoza and wife Erica, Marisol Mediano and husband Marcos, Michelle Barker, Michael Mendoza, Juanita Nunez and husband Jacob, Mario, Amanda, Jose, Jasmine, and Raven Nunez; great-grandchildren Ruby, Bruno, Miguel, Reyna, Arianna, Barker, Rogelio, Arianna, Amilleo, and Mateo Mendoza; and many nieces and nephews who will carry his memory forward.
