Randy J. Kaluza
June 27, 1959— March 11, 2026
Morton, IL
Randy J. Kaluza, 66, of Morton, passed away on March 11, 2026, at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria.
Born in Westville, Illinois, in 1959, Randy grew up in the Danville area before moving to Morton in 1999. He married Candy in 1980, and together they raised their son, Michael, born in 1983. Michael and his wife, Trisha, blessed Randy and Candy with three cherished grandchildren, Haley, Layton, and Auburn.
Randy began his career at Hyster Company and worked at MH Equipment from 1994 until his retirement in 2020. He shared a close bond with his son, marked by constant joking and a mutual love for music, tattoos, motorcycles, cars, and the outdoors. A gifted musician, Randy played bass guitar, guitar, banjo, and ukulele, and served on worship teams throughout his life. He was a member of the Central Illinois Banjo Club and co-founded the band 4 On the Floor with Candy, Gail Strunk, and Jan Winkler, bringing joy through performances at nursing homes, memory care facilities, churches, and community events.
In his retirement, Randy devoted countless hours to woodworking, crafting “Up from the Ashes” crosses that he freely gave away so others might have a symbol of Jesus in their homes. He was a loyal Green Bay Packers fan who realized a lifelong dream by visiting Lambeau Field with Candy, Michael, and Trisha. Randy also served alongside Candy at the Bethel Lutheran Food Pantry, quietly and generously meeting the needs of others. A faithful follower of Jesus, he lived a life of service, talent, and kindness that touched many.
He is survived by his wife Candy, son Michael and daughter-in-law Trisha, grandchildren Haley, Layton, and Auburn, and a wide circle of friends who will miss his generous spirit and warm presence. His legacy of faith, music, and selfless giving will continue to live on.
