Randolph “Mike” Meranta, age 82, passed away on February 20, 2026, in Shreveport, Louisiana. He was born on May 23, 1943 to Joseph Pasquale Meranto and Ruth Marie Duval Meranto in Shreveport, Louisiana.Mike was a resident of Blanchard, Louisiana, in the Shreveport area. He will be remembered for his love for his family and the life he built in the community he called home.Mike proudly served his country for many years, retiring from both the United States Navy and the United States Air Force, where he spent the majority of his military career. He was a combat veteran of the Vietnam War and carried great pride in his service to his country.He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Pasquale Meranto and Ruth Marie Duval Meranto; his beloved wife, Gloria F. Meranto; and his brothers, Anthony Meranto, Cleveland Marshall Meranto, Louis Meranta, and Glyn Meranto.Those left to cherish his memory include his daughters, Debbie Meranto Claydon, Tessie Kiefer (Kenny), Theresa Munn (Bruce), and Gina O’Donnell (John); his son Joseph Meranto (Sharon); and his siblings, Gerald Meranto, Peggy, Beverly, Linda; and his beloved grandchildren.Visitation and church service will be held at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana at 9:00 a.m. on March 9, 2026. Interment will follow at Northwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery. Officiating the service will be Pastor Joan Brown.The family invites friends and loved ones to join them in remembering and honoring Mike’s life.
