Randall Joe Lashley

1942 — 2026

Indianapolis, IN

Randall Joe Lashley, 84, of Indianapolis, passed away on the afternoon of Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at Worthington Place in Camby. Born on January 28, 1942, in Washington, Indiana, he was the son of the late George W. and Ruth L. (Evans) Lashley.

A 1960 graduate of Washington High School, Joe proudly served in the U.S. Army National Guard. For most of his working life, he drove a truck over the road and retired from Yellow Freight Trucking. He was also a 25-year member of U.A.W. Local 933. Joe possessed an independent spirit and lived life on his own terms, following his own path and marching to the beat of his own drum. Beneath that free-spirited nature was a man with a big heart who loved life, loved his family, and found joy in the simple pleasures that mattered to him.

He enjoyed sports, especially golf and tennis, and was a fan of NASCAR and basketball. He also held a particular appreciation for old, fast cars and the thrill they brought.

Joe is survived by his grandsons, Tommy Brown, Dustin Murray, and Austin Murray; a brother, Jerry Lashley of Indianapolis; a sister, Teresa (Brian) Tarter of Albany, Kentucky; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Deborah Wethington.
