Kernick, age 78, of Norfolk, Nebraska will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 20, 2026, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Norfolk. Reverend Vincent Germace will be celebrant, with burial in Prospect Hill Cemetery in Norfolk.Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.Home for Funerals in Norfolk is in charge of arrangements.Randall passed away Sunday, March 15, 2026, at his residence, due to acute myeloid leukemia.Randall "Randy" Kernick was born on April 4, 1947, in Norfolk, Nebraska to Russell and Dorothy (Seymour) Kernick. Randy graduated from Norfolk Catholic High School in 1966. He served his country in the United States Air Force and was stationed at Lackland Air Force Base until his honorable discharge. On November 28, 1975, Randy married Rita Fuchtman at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Norfolk.Randy was employed at Skelgas as a route driver for over 15 years and then was a custodian at Norfolk Catholic Schools until his retirement. He was a past commander of the American Legion Post 16 in Norfolk. He enjoyed camping with the Logan Valley Camping Club, fishing, and bowling. Randy could fix almost anything.He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Rita; his beloved feline, Sam; his siblings, Ann (Don) Crosier of Lincoln, Bobbi (Dave) Doernemann of Howells, Russell (Sue) Kernick of Norfolk, and Becky Hansen of Lincoln; sisters-in-law, Lynn Riedmiller of Randolph and Celeste (Steve) Elwood of Yankton; and brother-in-law, Dale (Ardyce) Fuchtman of Creighton.Randy was preceded in death by his parents.To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Randall C.
