Ramona Lynne Weipert

Ramona Lynne “Mona” Weipert, 66, of Osage, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at the Mitchell County Regional Health Center.

Born on November 15, 1959, in Osage, Mona was the sixth child of Arthur and Betty (Campbell) Weipert. She grew up in Osage surrounded by her nine siblings in a large and lively family. As a young adult she moved to Washington state, where she owned and operated her own restaurant. Later returning to Iowa, Mona worked in a variety of roles, always focused on helping others. Her empathy and compassion allowed her to form many meaningful connections throughout her life.

Mona loved to cook and bake for family and friends. She was creative and skilled with her hands, enjoying sewing, painting, and a wide variety of craft projects. Always active, she rarely stayed still for long. She held a deep affection for animals and cared for them whenever she could. Even while facing significant health challenges, Mona kept a positive spirit and continued to find joy in the things she loved.

She is survived by her children, Stephanie and Nathan; grandchildren, Josh, Antonio, Justice, and Isiah “Bubba”; siblings, Robert, Donna (Don) Granhan, Steve (Kathy) Weipert, Becky (Steve) Graves, Keith (Renae) Weipert, Michael Weipert, Brenda (John) Cramer, and Brian (Kimberly) Weipert; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. Mona was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Darrell, and her special friend Dennis Fischer.
