Ralph Herman Bessling, age 87, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2026, at Washington Hospital Center. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, on October 5, 1938, Ralph lived a life defined by hard work, service, and friendship. He proudly served his country in the United States Army, attaining the rank of Specialist Fourth Class.

A lifetime member of the American Legion, Ralph served as Past Commander of August J. Raveio Post 195. The Legion became a second home to him, where he formed many cherished friendships that lasted for years. In his free time, he enjoyed playing bingo, fishing, cheering for the Orioles and Ravens, and relaxing with friends at the Legion. He was known for his sense of humor, steadfast loyalty, and the simple pleasure he found in good company.

Ralph was preceded in death by his devoted wife, Nancy Ruskey. He is survived by his loving children, Karen Overcash, Tina Ruskey, Jackie Keller, and Arthur Ruskey; his cherished grandchildren, Clay, Hannah, Sarah, Conner, Jordan, and Brayden; and his caring brother, Vernon Bessling.
