Rafaela V. Garvey

Rafaela V. Garvey, beloved wife of the late Vincent F. Garvey, passed away peacefully at her home in Delray Beach, Florida on March 14, 2026 at the age of 101. Born in Brooklyn, New York on February 26, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Vita (Granuzzo) Cusumano.

A loving and devoted daughter, wife, and mother, Rafaela always placed her family first. She cherished her time at home and took great joy in entertaining family on holidays and any occasion, making everyone feel welcomed and loved. Growing up in the shadows of Ebbets Field, she was a passionate Brooklyn Dodgers fan in her early years. She also found lifelong pleasure in music, listening and singing along to her favorites Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, and Bobby Darin.

She is survived by her son Keith Garvey and his wife Marcela of Norwalk, Connecticut. In addition to her son, Rafaela leaves behind her four cherished grandchildren, Michael Garvey and his wife Lauren Randall Garvey, Kimberly Garvey Damato and her husband Joseph Damato, Marcela Goni, and Mariana Goni, as well as three great-grandchildren, Giorgio, Arabella, and Nico Damato. She was predeceased by her two brothers, Matthew and Rudolph Cusumano, and is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends whom she loved dearly.
