Rachel Elizabeth Yandle

The world has lost a bright and beautiful soul whose kindness and love touched the lives of everyone she met. Rachel Elizabeth Yandle passed away unexpectedly on March 12, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of laughter, warmth, and compassion. Though her light was extinguished far too soon, the love she shared will continue to shine in the hearts of all who knew her.

Rachel was born on January 16, 1986, in Waynesville, North Carolina, to Jane Cline Yandle of Raleigh, North Carolina, and Timothy Courtney Yandle of Charleston, South Carolina. She is survived by her loving parents; her dear and devoted sister, Katie Yandle of Raleigh; her cherished niece, Peyton; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Rachel treasured her large extended family, and the love between them ran deep.

Rachel was a woman of remarkable gifts. She was a passionate writer with a beautiful singing voice, a talent she proudly displayed in a Barbershop Quartet and Concert Choir as a teen. She built a successful career as a talented hair stylist and proud business owner. Her devoted clients traveled from near and far, not only for her exceptional skill with hair and makeup, but for the genuine care, warmth, friendship, and therapy she offered each person who sat in her chair. Rachel had a special way of making people feel seen, valued, and loved.

Over the past year, Rachel had made significant progress towards earning the degree she never had a chance to finish years ago. She earned her associate’s degree and was well on her way to a bachelor’s in strategic leadership, earning multiple scholarships and induction to the National Society for Leadership and Success.

Rachel was a compassionate and devoted animal lover who cared for many beloved animals throughout her life. Most especially, she adored her faithful companion, her heart dog, Jethro. Jethro preceded her in death but while he was alive, he was a gentle giant that brought her endless comfort and joy.

Horses and horseback riding were another great passion of Rachel’s. The most peace and happiness she has ever felt was when she was in the saddle. During her high school years, she spent every day she could at J&H Stables, riding, caring for the horses, and teaching the next generation of riders—always with dedication, tenacity, and never a complaint.

Those who knew Rachel will forever remember her deep brown eyes, her infectious laugh, her witty sense of humor, and the warmth of her embrace. She will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her. As we remember Rachel, may we carry forward the love, compassion, and light she so freely gave to others. Her spirit will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

A drop-in celebration of Rachel’s life will be held on Sunday, March 29th, 3-5pm at the Stag Club, 8001 Ray Rd, Raleigh, NC 27613. Remarks will begin at 4:00pm if you would like to share a memory.
