Preserve forever →Phyllis Ratliff Christian
Jesup, GA
Phyllis Ratliff Christian, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on March 13, 2026. Born on February 23, 1951, in Jacksonville, Florida, she lived a life marked by quiet dedication, warmth, and an abiding love for her family.
Throughout her years, Phyllis worked several jobs with a tireless work ethic, always focused on providing for those she loved. In her later life, however, her greatest joy came from being a grandmother and great-grandmother. Her home became a loving sanctuary filled with family treasures, where photographs and mementos of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren adorned every wall.
She had a deep appreciation for beauty and history, expressed through her flower garden, where she nurtured vibrant life with the same gentle care she showed to everyone around her, and through her cherished collection of antique China dishes.
Phyllis is survived by her husband of 56 years, Larry Christian of Jesup; their daughter, Amy Barwick and her husband David; their son, Phillip Christian and his wife Holly, all of Jesup; five grandchildren, Madison Riner and her husband Sebastian, Morgan Christian, Hunter Thurmon and his wife Sarah, Tanner Barwick, and Amber Harter and her husband Hagen; and three great-grandchildren, Noah, Liam, and Amelia. She is also survived by her brothers Freddie Ratliff and Earl Ratliff and his wife Charlene, her sister Janice Cowart, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, J.J. and Maxine Ratliff, and her sister Belinda Griffin.
