Phyllis Lee Hinkle, a cherished educator and devoted family woman, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2026, in Milford, Ohio, surrounded by her loved ones. Born on January 17, 1953, in Cincinnati, Ohio, she dedicated 26 years to nurturing and inspiring children as a teacher with West Clermont Schools, retiring on June 1, 2008.

Phyllis held a deep love for her family, her dogs, and classic country music. A devoted fan of the Cincinnati Reds, she embraced life with enthusiasm and warmth. Her fascination with “The Dukes of Hazzard” was well known; she enjoyed connecting with fellow fans on Facebook and was a frequent, enthusiastic attendee at the annual Dukes Fest. She took particular pride in promoting John Schneider, known as Bo Duke, and supporting Tom Sarmento in their endeavors.

Family remained at the center of Phyllis’s life. She was preceded in death by her parents, Victor and Sallie Hinkle, her siblings W.L. Hinkle, Tip Hinkle, and Alice Carol Herndon, and her nieces Tracy Jones and Robin Herndon. She is survived by her dear nieces and nephews—Richard Herndon, Steven Herndon, Kimberly Sheehy, Kelly Doan, Christopher Herndon, and Andrew Herndon—who remember her with great fondness and carry forward her legacy of kindness and generosity.

Phyllis Lee Hinkle’s life was marked by her unwavering devotion to others, her infectious love for life’s simple pleasures, and the profound impact she made as an educator and family matriarch. Her memory will continue to inspire and comfort all who had the privilege to know her.
