Phyllis Day Obituary March 7, 2026 - Anderson-Laws Jones Funeral Home
Smith, KY
Phyllis Ann Day, 77, of Smith Kentucky left the troubles of this world behind to go be with the Lord on Saturday, March 7, 2026. She passed during the evening hours while at home being cared for by family. If you knew Phyllis, then you know there was no question that she loved the Lord, her family, and her church. If you talked with her you probably felt right at home when she spoke. If you knew her well enough, then you know she would lovingly tell you the truth, whether you wanted to hear it or not. If you were going through something or needed the Lord to move in a situation, if you mentioned it in front of her, she prayed for you fiercely. She was a prayer warrior and an avid gardener. She was a loving wife, mother, grandma, ma, sister, aunt, and friend. She was a faithful member of New Riverside Baptist Church where she was the treasurer for many, many years. Even though she thought she wasn't good at it, she would fill in on the piano when absolutely needed. If you had a birthday party using New Riverside's Fellowship Hall, then you probably spoke with her on the phone and felt her love for people.Phyllis was born May 13, 1948 in Harlan KY to the late Elizabeth (Betty) and Clyde Langford. Day, and her siblings, Margarett Sapp, and Brian Langford. She is survived by her children, Elizabeth (Boone) Lewis and Kenny (Sabrina) Day; grandchildren, Jacob (Kortney) Whitaker, Brittany Day, Heather Shoemaker, Ashley (Prescott) Saylor, Kendra (Dylan) Hunborg, and Johnathan Day; three great grandchildren, Gracelynn Shoemaker, Elliott Shoemaker, and Avery Whitaker; brothers, Ronnie (Brenda) Langford and Jeff Langford; she also leaves a host of relatives and friends to mourn her passing.Visitation will be 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm Thursday (March 12th) at New Riverside Baptist Church in Smith Kentucky.
