Phyllis Arlene Shiro

Phyllis Arlene Shiro, 79, of Norwood, passed away on March 14, 2026. Born on December 31, 1946, in Chelsea, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the late Rose and Jack Grossman.

Phyllis was a devoted wife to her late husband, David Shiro, for 16 years. She cared deeply for her long-time friends and her circle of “mom” friends in Norwood. A loyal Boston Celtics fan, she rarely missed her favorite soap operas and found great joy in staying connected with loved ones through phone calls and visits. Her most cherished role was as mother to her son, Lee, and grandmother to his three children. She looked forward to every holiday spent with family and friends. Among her fondest memories were her childhood on Revere Beach, time spent with dear friends, and the companionship of her dog, Brandy.

She is survived by her son, Lee Shiro, and his wife, Liz; her beloved grandchildren, Rose, Eliana, and Jacob Shiro; and her brother, Steve Grossman.
