Phyllis Ann Day, 77, of Smith, Kentucky, passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at her home surrounded by the loving care of her family.

A woman of deep faith, Phyllis loved the Lord, her family, and her church with unwavering devotion. She had a warm, welcoming way about her that made others feel at home in her presence. Known for speaking the truth with love and conviction, she was a fierce prayer warrior who would immediately lift up anyone who shared a burden with her. She found joy in gardening and served faithfully for many years as treasurer of New Riverside Baptist Church in Smith, occasionally filling in at the piano when needed. Her genuine care for people was evident in every conversation, whether coordinating a birthday party in the church fellowship hall or volunteering for many years with Christ Hands.

Born on May 13, 1948, in Harlan, Kentucky, to the late Elizabeth (Betty) and Clyde Langford, Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth R. Day, and her siblings, Margarett Sapp and Brian Langford.

She is survived by her children, Elizabeth (Boone) Lewis and Kenny (Sabrina) Day; grandchildren, Jacob (Kortney) Whitaker, Brittany Day, Heather Shoemaker, Ashley (Prescott) Saylor, Kendra (Dylan) Hunborg, and Johnathan Day; great-grandchildren, Gracelynn Shoemaker, Elliott Shoemaker, and Avery Whitaker; brothers, Ronnie (Brenda) Langford and Jeff Langford; and a host of other relatives and friends who will miss her deeply.
