Phon Nuth

Phon Nuth, the beloved patriarch of the Nuth family, passed away peacefully on March 15, 2026. A man of immense warmth, kindness, and courage, he served as the cornerstone of his family’s life, first in Cambodia and later in America.

Born in Kompong Speu, Cambodia, to Mr. Nuth Nam and Mrs. Un Sun, Phon displayed remarkable intellect and charisma from a young age. A survivor of the Khmer Rouge regime, he endured the horrors of the Killing Fields yet emerged with an unbroken spirit, a heart full of kindness, and a steadfast commitment to guiding his family toward safety and opportunity.

Phon was a hard-working, friendly, and easy-going man whose magnetic charm and gift for teaching left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He spoke with conviction, offering his children and grandchildren powerful lessons on responsibility, integrity, and resilience that continue to guide them. After the war, he met his devoted wife, Soeun Tem, in Battambang province. Together they raised four children and, through extraordinary vision and sacrifice, brought the entire family from rural Cambodia to the United States, where he watched with deep pride as they embraced new opportunities.

Phon expressed his love through his constant presence, protective nature, and unwavering devotion. He was a man of his word—steady, honorable, and deeply giving.

He is survived by his devoted wife of over 48 years, Soeun Tem; his daughter, Sophea Nuth, and her children; his son, Sophany Nuth, and his wife, Sokuntheary Un, and their children; his son, Sophat Nuth, and his wife, Sreymom Lay, and their children; and his son, Sophanna Nuth, and his wife, Keodara Sar, and their children. His vibrant spirit and the wisdom he shared will echo through the generations of the family he cherished.
