Phillip Simmons, Jr., 78, a native of Lady’s Island and widower of Phyllis Simmons, died on Monday, March 9, 2026.

Born and raised on Lady’s Island, Phillip lived a life rooted in family, faith, and service. He proudly served his country, earning military honors that marked a significant chapter of his journey. Those who knew him will remember his quiet strength, his deep devotion to his wife Phyllis, and the steady presence he offered to his loved ones.

He leaves behind family and friends who will carry his memory with love and gratitude as they gather to celebrate the life he lived. A Celebration of Life service was held at Friendship Baptist Church in Beaufort, followed by burial with military honors at Beaufort National Cemetery.
