Phillip Loren Osborne

May 9, 1939 March 8, 2026

Amherst, MA

Phillip "Ozzie" L. Osborne, born in 1939 in Everett, Massachusetts, to Arthur Sr. and Grace (Kerrigan) Osborne, passed away on March 8, 2026.

An avid outdoorsman, Phillip found his greatest joy in hunting, fishing, and camping. Many of his fondest memories were made in the woods or on the water with his brothers. Later in life, he and his beloved wife Mary spent cherished winters in Key West, where they enjoyed camping, the outdoors, and the companionship of their dogs, Lucy and Daisy. In his later years, he found great comfort and community at the Amherst American Legion, where he was surrounded by friends and a strong sense of camaraderie.

Phillip proudly served his country for many years as a Master Sergeant in the Air Force National Guard, as well as in the United States Navy and the U.S. Navy Reserves. His military service reflected his deep sense of duty, discipline, and commitment.

He was predeceased by his parents, Arthur Sr. and Grace Osborne; his brothers Robert, Arthur Jr., Donald, Eugene, and Kenneth; his sister Joyce; and his beloved wife, Mary. Phillip is survived by his children, daughter Kimberly and sons Loren, Ross, and Matthew, as well as six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, who carry forward his legacy of family, service, and love for the outdoors. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, and “Guppy,” a proud serviceman, and a man who felt most at peace in nature, surrounded by those he loved.
