Phillip Dale Allred II, 76, of Pittsburg, Kansas, passed away peacefully at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, Missouri, on March 8, 2026, surrounded by his loved ones.
Born on May 30, 1949, in Pittsburg to Phil Allred Sr. and Oreta (Rink) Allred, Phil spent his entire life in Southeast Kansas. He married Linda Richey in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on March 28, 1969. Known to friends, coworkers, and family as a hardworking and dependable man, he took great pride in his family. Phil co-owned O&A Painting, worked as a heavy equipment operator in the coal mines, and finished his career with the City of Pittsburg.
An avid outdoorsman, he loved fishing on the river and placed the highest value on family. He is survived by his wife Linda of the home; his sister Denise Harrod (Larry); daughters Mendy Hamilton (Shawn) and Stacey Darrow (Kirk); grandchildren Kaleb Hamilton (Brooke), Kolton Darrow (Gabby), Madison Darrow (Nick), and Malorie Hamilton; and nephews Todd Harrod (Michelle) and Justin Harrod (Krischa). He is also survived by his cherished great-grandchildren Ellison Mae, Lennyn Rae, Beau Tyler, and the newest Baby Darrow due in September, who brought him great joy.
Phil will be deeply missed by his family and friends, but his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
