Philip L. Sheridan, a long-time resident of Washington, DC, passed away on March 10, 2026 in Westerville, Ohio after a long illness. He was 81.
Born and raised in Columbus, Ohio, Phil graduated from St. Charles Preparatory School, Ohio University, and Harvard Business School. He lived in Los Angeles and Chicago before settling in Washington, DC, where he founded Dupont Properties and revitalized the buildings at the corner of 18th and S Streets, NW, transforming the area into a thriving district of restaurants, storefronts, office space, and apartments. He maintained homes in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware and Annapolis, Maryland, and found great joy in waterskiing, windsurfing, sailing, skiing, and taking motorcycle trips.
Preceded in death by his parents Albert, Sr. and Mary Sheridan, Phil is survived by his longtime partner Elizabeth Hallman, his brothers Al, Jr. (Karen) Sheridan and Steve (Barb) Sheridan, his nieces and nephews Kevin Sheridan, Laura Gordon, Maggie (Travis) Buckley, Mike (Kate) Sheridan, and Molly (Joe) Brunner, and 14 grandnieces and grandnephews.
