Phil Engle

With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Phil Engle of Tiffin, Ohio, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on March 4, 2026 at the age of 91. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, William Rueben Engle and Hazel Margaret Kern; his wife Sylvia Rayella Turner Engle; and his siblings, Maurice Eugene Engle and Margaret Justine McCormick.

He is survived by: his children, Matthew Engle (Susan), Adams Engle (Stephanie) and Kimberly Griffin (Patrick); his grandchildren, Tyler Griffin (Maggie), Taylor Riley (Dawson), Turner Engle (Summer), Carson Engle (Emily), Riley Engle (Emily), Arielle Engle, Abby Herman (Eric) and Andrew Engle; his great grandchildren, Phillip, Carter, Vivian, Carina, Myles, Maci and Warner; and his sister-in-law Pari Carter. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and step-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 16th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the Greenlawn Cemetery (895 E County Rd 36, Tiffin, OH 44883).

Memorial contributions may be made to the Tiffin Historic Trust or to the First Lutheran Church in Tiffin, organizations that were close to Phil's heart.
