Petra Herrera

Petra Herrera, a woman of deep faith and quiet strength, passed away peacefully on March 5, 2026, at the age of 78. Born on August 1, 1947, in La Purísima, Durango, Mexico, she met the love of her life, Lorenzo, in her hometown. Their shared devotion to God formed the foundation of a lifelong partnership dedicated to proclaiming the Word of the Lord. Lorenzo preceded her in death by 20 years, yet the bond they built and the life they created together remained a cherished part of her story until the end.

Above all, Petra was defined by her unwavering faith. Her love for God guided every aspect of her life. She placed Him above all things and spent her years preaching, praying, and living as an example of trust and devotion. Through her words and her actions, she encouraged countless others to walk in faith and draw closer to the Lord.

She is survived by her three children, Rocio, Noe, and Marilu. Petra was a proud grandmother to nine grandchildren: Elexyz, Connie, Vianca, Gabriela, Cristian, Julian B., Sergio, Estevan, and Julian C., and a beloved great-grandmother to twelve great-grandchildren: Valentina, Paulina, Khyler, Santino, Luna, Cruz, Nora, Mila, Elliana, Lorenzo, Luke, and Lennox. Her family brought her great pride and joy, and she treasured every moment spent with them.

Those who knew Petra will remember her strong spirit, compassionate heart, and the steadfast faith that shaped her life. She lived with purpose, always seeking to serve God and uplift those around her. Her family grieves her loss but finds comfort knowing she is now at home with the Lord and reunited with her beloved Lorenzo.
