Peter Vladimery
September 7, 1945— March 6, 2026
Lebanon, VA
Peter Vladimery, age 80, of the River Mountain section of Lebanon, Virginia, passed away on March 6, 2026, at Maple Grove Healthcare Center in Lebanon, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on September 7, 1946, in Tabriz, Iran, he was the son of Yuri and Siranoosh Vladimery. At the age of eighteen, Peter arrived in the United States with five hundred dollars in his pocket and a dream of becoming a doctor. He settled first in New York, where he began working and adapting to life in a new country. He went on to graduate from West Virginia University with a degree in pharmaceutical studies. He built a long and respected career as a pharmacy manager, working for both large companies and small independent stores. Peter spoke four languages and found deep fulfillment in helping others. His warm personality and ready smile drew people to him, and his enormous heart often led him to quietly offer help to those he met.
He cherished his family above all else. His greatest joys were his children and grandchildren, whom he loved to spoil regardless of their age. He lived for many years in Wilmington, North Carolina, where he enjoyed surf fishing, cooking and grilling, gardening, and planting flowers. He loved traveling with his wife, especially on cruises, and their favorite destination was Maui. If you knew Peter, you were instantly considered a friend. He entered this country knowing no one and left it having touched countless lives with kindness and generosity.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Nicholas Vladimery, and one sister Maria Vladimery. Survivors include his children, Greg Vladimery and wife Yukari Vladimery, Tara Vladimery Rice and husband Kenny Rice, Tony Newberry, Joey Newberry and wife Dara Newberry; ten grandchildren, Alyssa Powell, Kacy Jarrett, Josh Jackson, Collette Vladimery, Lucas Vladimery, David Newberry, Brandon Newberry, Brianna and Evan Clark, Caleb Newberry, and JC Newberry; seven great-grandchildren; and several adored nieces and nephews. His family will carry forward his legacy of love, devotion to family, and his gentle reminder not to sweat the small stuff.
