Peter V. Steffen

Peter V. Steffen passed away peacefully at home on March 9, 2026, at the age of 89, with his beloved wife by his side. Born on April 3, 1936, in Jersey City, New Jersey, he was the son of the late Jennie Steffen and brother of the late Charles Steffen.

Peter was a devoted husband to his wife of 60 years, Cookie. He was a proud and caring father to his children, Suzanne, Peter (Katrin), and Vincent, a cherished grandfather to Gabriella, Nicolo, and Valentina, and a much beloved uncle, great-uncle, brother-in-law, and friend to many.

He served honorably in the United States Army during the Korean War. Afterward, he worked for the Department of Sanitation and Pioneer Bus, building a career through dedication and hard work before retiring. Above all, Peter was a man who loved deeply and gave wholeheartedly to those around him. To many, he was a steady presence and a rock they could always count on.

Family was the center of his life. He treasured every moment spent with those he loved and took great pride in the family he helped build. His strength, kindness, and love will live on in the hearts of his family forever.
