Peter Thomas Migliacio

Peter Thomas Migliacio

March 26, 1956 March 2, 2026

White Castle, LA

Peter Thomas Migliacio, known to all as “Peep,” passed away on March 2, 2026, at the age of 69 at his home in White Castle, Louisiana. A kind, quiet, and generous man with the biggest heart, Peter brought light and laughter to everyone around him. He was a devoted friend, mentor, confidant, and jokester who never hesitated to help anyone in need and had a special talent for giving memorable nicknames.

The youngest child of Jimmy and Sarah Migliacio, Peter grew up in a large Italian family in Plaquemine, Louisiana, where he was especially adored by his sister Deedy and Lina. He graduated from Plaquemine High School in 1974. With the help of his brother-in-law P.W. Albert, he moved to Jackson, Mississippi, and began his career in the trucking industry. He worked for many years as a dispatcher before becoming the proud owner and chairman of Capital City Trucking, LLC, in Florence, Mississippi. He remained deeply committed to his work and his drivers until he dispatched his last truck in 2019.

In 2003, after 23 years apart, Peter rekindled a romance with Jerilyn Kember. They married when he was 56 and settled in White Castle, where he embraced quiet country life and gained a large and loving family. He cherished his role as husband, father figure, and grandfather. Peter loved sports of all kinds, especially college football and March Madness, and he was always ready to place a bet on just about anything. He traveled to the College World Series in Omaha in 2023 and again in 2025, experiences that brought him great joy.

Peter faced a courageous five-year battle with serious health challenges, including multiple heart surgeries, brain surgery, radiation, and immunotherapy. He endured every difficulty with resilience and grace, never complaining, and with his wife Jerilyn always by his side. His powerful will to live inspired everyone who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Jerilyn Kember Migliacio; his sister, Delia “Deedy” Migliacio Albert; and his brothers, James “Jimmy” Migliacio (Pam) and Nicholas “Nicky” Migliacio (Sheila). He is also survived by the children he lovingly nicknamed: Kasey “Queen Bee” Ourso Newman (Scott), John “Johnny Boy” Barker, Jr. (Kirsha), Jacqueline “Bust” Barker Savoia (Charlie), James “Louis” Barker (Jessica), and Jude “Whistle Britches” Barker (Heather), along with their 13 grandchildren who brought him his greatest joy: Jonah and Harper Newman; Bowen and Kellan Barker; Joshua, Matthew, and Samuel Savoia; Chett Bickham; Grace and Lucas Barker; and Eli, Wesley, and Archie Barker. He leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and their children as well.

Peter was preceded in death by his parents, James Frank Migliacio and Sarah Vitale Calvaruso Migliacio; his brother, Jackie James Migliacio; his sister, Katherine Ann Migliacio; and Joshua O’Thane Barker.
