Peter Alvarado ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Anderson-Bethany Funeral Home and Crematory - Roswell on Mar. 4, 2026.Obituary for Peter Manuel AlvaradoNovember 6, 1942 – March 2, 2026Peter Manuel Alvarado, age 83, of Roswell, NM, passed away on March 2, 2026, in Lubbock, Texas at Covenant Hospital, with his wife at his side.On November 6, 1942, Peter was born to Leonides Dominguez Alvarado and Julia Garcia Alvarado in Roswell, New Mexico. After graduation from Roswell High School in 1960, he worked with his father for Donald B. Anderson. Shortly he became employed by United States Postal Service in Roswell. He became a member of the "Dusters" drag race club in Roswell where he competed with those at Walker Air Force Base. In August of 1969 he married the love of his life, Elizabeth "Lisa" Alvarado. In 2002 he retired from the United Post Office Service with forty plus years of service. Peter spent his time of retirement doing thing he enjoyed spending time with family and cats, camping, going to rummage sales, and his continued search of antiques. He was member of Assumption Catholic Church of Roswell.He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonides "Slim" and Julia Alvarado; siblings Consuelo "Connie" La Riva, Leonides "Jr." Alvarado, Esperanza " Nancy" Cantu, and Mary Calderon, and his granddaughter Elena Lopez,He is survived by his devoted wife of 58 years, and his children Shawn (wife Teresa) and Sara Lopez (husband Mario); three grandchildren: Jacob Hernandez, Luca Lopez, and Elijah Lopez.
