Peter J. Olsta

Peter J. Olsta

Eastham, MA

Peter J. Olsta, 78, of Eastham, Massachusetts, and Glenmont, New York, passed away on March 12, 2026. Born on November 3, 1947, in Webster, Massachusetts, he was the son of the late Juliet (Rulli) Olsta and the late Joseph Jarmolowicz. He graduated from Bartlett High School, earned his bachelor’s degree from Lowell Tech, and received his master’s degree from RPI.

Peter enjoyed a long career as a business executive in the plastics manufacturing industry, working at DuPont, Albany International, Crellin Plastics, Sonoco Plastics, and Pittsfield Plastics. In recent years he found great purpose volunteering with Nauset Neighbors on Cape Cod, where he drove seniors to medical appointments and formed many new friendships. He was honored as Volunteer of the Year just days before his passing.

He is survived by his daughters, Lisa (Michael) Sullivan of Smithtown and Michelle (Anthony) Marino of Glenmont; his grandchildren, Caroline, Eva, and Ben Robinson, Adam, Eliana, and Sadie Marino, and Emily and Grace Sullivan; his sister, Mary (Ed) Kunkel of Dudley, Massachusetts; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. He was predeceased by his wife of 49 years, Carol (Nadeau) Olsta.

Peter was deeply devoted to his family, especially his grandchildren and their dogs, and could always be found cheering from the sidelines, bleachers, or audience at their games and performances. An avid woodworker, he crafted custom furniture for those he loved. A gifted athlete, he excelled in football, basketball, and especially baseball, and was inducted into the Hall of Fame at both Bartlett High School and UMass Lowell. He cherished gathering family and friends at his Cape Cod home, sharing “small world” stories, exploring low tide with his grandkids, watching sunsets from the deck, and running the family football pool. A loyal supporter of New England sports, he was especially fond of the Patriots and the Red Sox. Above all, Peter touched many lives, often stepping in as a father or grandfather figure to an extended circle of family and friends.
