Peggy Johnson ObituaryPublished by Legacy on Mar. 5, 2026.Peggy Jane Pace Johnson, 93, went to heaven March 4, 2026 at The Estates of Charlottesville. She was born the youngest of six children to Theodore. R. Pace and Missie Lee Rhodes on December 11, 1932 in Woodridge, Virginia. She graduated from Scottsville High School in 1951 and went on to build a career in banking. Peggy married Minor Johnson, the love of her life, on July 30,1956. They made their home in Charlottesville, raising two daughters. Peggy retired from First Virginia Bank as a long-time branch manager. She was a long-time member of the Doe Club-Charlottesville Elks Lodge #389 and First Baptist Church.Peggy was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 68 years, John Minor Johnson, Jr. She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Janet Johnson and Dana Johnson Kenworthy, and a beloved granddaughter, Jocelyn Kenworthy, all of Charlottesville; a treasured son-in-law-to-be, Mike Plunkett, of Virginia Beach, VA; nieces and nephews, Linda & Gary Edwards of Midlothian, Va., C.T. & Diana Pace, of Crozet, Va., and Tammy Lackey of Oklahoma City, OK. She is also survived by a host of other cousins, nieces, and nephews too numerous to name, but no less loved by her.Think of Peggy when you see a pretty cardinal, springtime flowers, the color turquoise, or a lovely couple, ballroom dancing. These were her favorites.The family wishes to thank special friends, Karen and Jada Howard for their love and support over the past several years. They would also like to recognize and thank the staff at The Estates of Charlottesville, and the staff and volunteers of Hospice of the Piedmont (especially Nurse Bridget) for the care they provided to this special lady over the past year.In lieu of flowers, charitable donations may be made in Peggy's name to Hospice of the Piedmont or the Charlottesville-Albemarle Rescue Squad.Place the Full Obituary in Any NewspaperThis is just an online death notice.
