Peggy Lee (Edwards) Corwin

Peggy Lee (Edwards) Corwin passed away on March 8, 2026, at her home in Albany, Oregon, surrounded by her family.

Born on September 9, 1947, in Redmond, Oregon, she was the youngest daughter of Roy M. and Dora Edwards. On February 11, 1966, she married Ronald Corwin on the steps of the Deschutes County Courthouse in front of Judge D.L. Penhollow.

Peggy possessed an outgoing personality and a smile that lit up any room she entered. A talented cook, she and Ron purchased the Do Drop In, a small café in Redmond, on October 31, 1977. They renamed it Peggy’s Café, where she spent years preparing meals for the community.

She faced Multiple Sclerosis with remarkable courage for nearly six decades, refusing to let the disease define her and maintaining a positive, upbeat spirit throughout. Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Hazel (Edwards) Hall, and her brother Roy Dale Edwards. She is survived by her husband Ron, her children Alvin Chad Corwin and Dodee Corwin (Gary Alan) Sawyers, her grandchildren Aaron Hamilton, Elizabeth Sawyers, and Kassidy Sawyers, her great-grandson Boden Alan Sawyers, and her devoted caregivers Jessica Herrera and Christina Savage.
