A beloved preschool teacher for 30 years, Peggy dedicated her career to nurturing young children, forming deep and lasting connections with her students and their families, whom she cherished dearly.

Her life was filled with an adventurous spirit and a passion for cultural exploration. She loved to travel and embraced new experiences, finding particular joy in theme parks, especially Disney and Universal. An avid enthusiast of theater, hockey, Formula 1 racing, and professional wrestling, Peggy brought her diverse interests into the lives of those around her, enriching every gathering with her enthusiasm.

She is survived by her husband, John Schoonover, and their son, Jonathan Schoonover. Peggy also leaves behind her two step-sons, Dane Schoonover (Evelyn) and Gareth Schoonover (Megan), as well as a step-daughter, Evangeline Schoonover (Drew), and two cherished grandchildren, Soraya and Lyra. She took great pride in each member of her family, treasuring them for their unique qualities. She is also survived by her brother, Thomas Damron, and her two sisters, Gloria Vaughn and Doris Cox. She was preceded in death by her father, Aubrey Damron, and her mother, Francis Harrison Damron.

Peggy will be remembered for her warmth, compassion, and steadfast devotion to her family and to the many young lives she guided with a loving heart. Her legacy endures through the countless people she touched during her time on earth.
