Funeral Home on Mar. 14, 2026.Peggy Louise (Riggs) Berry, 94, Rogersville, passed away Saturday, March 7, 2026 in her daughter's home.She was born August 13, 1931, in Springfield, Missouri, the daughter of the late Seth and Orene Riggs. She was united in marriage on September 20, 1952 to Ray "Gene" Berry who preceded her in death in 2008. She was also preceded in death a granddaughter, Loretta (Hopper) Phillips, a sister, Virginia JoAnn Brumback and husband Johnny, a sister-in-law, Patrician Riggs, and a brothers-in-law, Carl Jacobsen.She grew up on a farm and graduated from Seymour High School. She received her teaching certificate from Missouri State Teachers College (MSU) and taught 1 thru 12 grades in a one room schoolhouse. She milked and farmed with Gene and worked at General Electric and Turner's Greenhouse.She accepted the Lord as her Savior as a child and attended Rogersville First Baptist Church. She was a member of the Pleasant Panthers Extension Club for many years. She was known for her gardening skills and could put anything in the ground and make it grow. She is also known for her pretty nails that folks admired and commented on regularly.She loved going to the Rogersville Senior Center where she enjoyed visiting with many special friends, playing with her dog "Cooper", and her cat "Snowdrop", and going to church.Most of all, she loved family gatherings and keeping up with and attending her grandkids' parties and activities. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.She is survived four daughters, Marilyn Burks and her husband Danny, Fordland; Angelyn Stokes and her husband Mike, Pleasant Hope; Rebecca Jost and her husband Don, Holt, Michigan; and Virginia Hopper and her husband Raymond, Strafford; a sister, Norma Jacobsen, Springfield; a brother, Seth "David" Riggs, Masa, Arizona; nine grandchildren, Shylena Parkison and husband Kevin, Rogersville; Skyler Burks and wife Bre, Rogersville; LaChrisha Swanson, Pleasant Hope; Alisha Jackson and Mike, Pleasant Hope; Lucinda Northcutt and husband Kane, Strafford; Nathan Jost and Connie, Holt, Michigan; Aaron Jost and Mark, Holt, Michigan; Micah Stokes, Ozark; and Shane Stokes and wife Lindsay, Springfield; eighteen great-grandchildren, Zianna Parkison, Kiyia Parkison, Hudson Parkison, Remi Burks, Reagan Burks, Parker Burks, Kyra Rudder and husband Jon, Chandler Sameshima, Kaelan Lawrence and wife Christa, Haley Jones and husband Aaron, Hayden Aleshire and wife Anne, Makylah Dawson, Kaleb Dawson, Ashton Guthrie and husband Josh, Austin Phillips and wife Heather, Krystal Goodwin and husband Aaron, Gracie Stokes, and Ella Strokes; very special friends, Rachel Straw, Judy Allen, Mae Smith, and Cheryl Riggin and husband Chick; and many other relatives and friends.A special thank you to Joyce, Suzanne, Jeff, and Lanay with Hospice.A visitation will be held from 2 - 4:00 p.m. Sunday, March 22, 2026 at J.D. Lee and Sons Funeral Home, Rogersville.Following the visitation, inurnment will be in Star Cemetery, east of Seymour at a later date.Memorial donations may be made to the Rogersville Area Senior Center, 197 S.
