She was attended to by her three children and their spouses; Rose (the late Martin) Sobel; Anthony (Andrea Szalanski) and Bonj (Samuel (Peppi) Sare). Pearl is also survived by grandchildren Jacob, Christopher (Deanna) and Benjamin Szczygiel and great-grandchild Lyra Rose Szczygiel, as well as nieces and nephews. Pearl was the last living child of the late Justine (Korta) and the late Casimer Kurczab.Pearl designed the house that she and late husband (Anthony Szczygiel) built and where she was to live for over 70 years. Pearl was a primary caregiver for her mother-in-law and her own mother in their later years. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her giving nature supported the growing family through abundant offerings of food, kindness and empathy. She loved to ride her bicycle, joining a club in her 60s. Notably she was recognized by Meals on Wheels of WNY for 25 years of outstanding service only retiring at age 90. She was filled with fun and joy, and shared both freelyThe family will hold a private Celebration of Life at a later time.
