Pearl Jean Meissen Lampman passed away on March 8, 2026 at River Oaks Retirement Manor, surrounded by her loving family. Born on February 19, 1934 in Compton, California, she grew up in Bellflower, California and graduated from Excelsior High School in 1952. She later lived in Garden Grove, California, where she raised two children and worked as a Recess Officer in the Garden Grove School System.
In 1970, Pearl moved to Lafayette, Louisiana, where she remained actively involved in her children’s lives, sharing countless hours playing board games with them and their friends. She was an extraordinary seamstress whose handcrafted curtains, bedspreads, and pillows brought joy to many. She also enjoyed crocheting, cross-stitching, listening to music of all genres, and dancing.
Her love for family spanned four generations as a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She is survived by her son, Steven Miles Lampman and his wife, Linda Touchet Lampman; her daughter, Tami Diane Lampman Diaz; grandchildren Amy Lampman Conaster and husband Paul, Erich Lampman and wife Jordan Moeller Lampman, James Travis Hunter, and Lyndsey Scott Hunter and wife Holly DeLeon-Hunter; great-grandchildren Mark Allen Leon, Lorynn Marie Lejeune, Taryn Rene Lejeune, Grayson Miles Lampman, Elijah Cohen Lampman, Zane Alexander Lampman, and Memphis Mae Hunter; great-great-grandson Emmett Michael Lejeune; nieces Kathy Christ and Karen Christ; nephews Kurt Christ, Dale Bourgeois and wife Stacy, and Mark Bourgeois and wife Terry; and sisters Virginia Christ and Diana Childers and husband Jim.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene Meissen and Maria Stretch Meissen, and her son-in-law, Charles Diaz.
