Payton Ellis Byrd

Payton Ellis Byrd of Lafayette, Louisiana, passed away on March 12, 2026, at the age of 32. He was deeply loved by family and friends who now mourn his loss.

He was predeceased by his grandparents, Lenox Pierre, Jr., David and Lee Esther Byrd; his great-aunts, Rena Jean-Batiste and Ethel Combs; and his cousin, Herbert Lewis, Jr.

Payton is survived by his parents, Katherine Pierre Byrd and Charles Byrd, Sr. of Parks, LA; his siblings, Charles Byrd, Jr., Keyera Byrd, and Ceyera Byrd, all of Parks, LA; his niece, Zalei Byrd of Parks, LA; his fiancé, Barkli Guidry of Lafayette, LA; and his children, Zaiden Nelson, Derrian Nelson, Amari Byrd, and Kyren Byrd, all of Lafayette, LA.
