Pauline Guinn Lindly, age 101, of Coalgate, Oklahoma, passed away March 5, 2026. Pauline was born June 18, 1924, in Holdenville, Oklahoma, to Homer William and Myrtie Eddings Guinn. She grew up on a farm in Parker, Oklahoma, mostly during the Great Depression, doing all the chores necessary for a large family to survive. Along with her siblings, she helped raise and grow all they needed and more, at a time when many were going without. She attended Parker School, through the 8th grade. Coalgate High School until flooding of the Boggy Creek Tributaries forced the change to Gerty High School. At the advent of WWII, she worked in the shipyards of San Francisco, doing her part in the war effort. She returned to Parker in time to see her brother, Elmer, off to the war in Europe. She married Duane J. Lindly, and was a homemaker for sixty-four years, raising nine children, while supporting his career, in education. She used her skills learned on that farm to care for her family. Which included preparing healthy meals, gardening, canning, sewing, and stitching. Pauline enjoyed watching her children compete in athletic contests and was proud of their achievements.
