Pauline E. Main, 95, of Moosup, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at Norwichtown Rehabilitation and Care Center.
Born in Norwich on May 16, 1930, to Floyd and Edna (MacLennan) Main, Pauline graduated from the Backus Hospital School of Nursing. She began her career as a Registered Nurse at the former Norwich State Hospital in Preston, where she cared for patients until her retirement in 1990. She later served as a school nurse at Shepherd Hill School. A longtime resident of Moosup, she was also an active member of the Woman’s Auxiliary for the Moosup Volunteer Fire Department.
Pauline is survived by her sister, Carol Balkus, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters, Glenney Jackson and Margaret Despathy.
Her family will remember her quiet strength, her dedication to nursing, and her lifelong commitment to her community.
